Often the games are quite easy, and the real fun is in the forfeitsN Here are some silly ones you might like to try out after a few rounds of Christmas Cheer with friends. Spear as many sultanas as you can in a minute - with a knitting needle galk across the room with a book on your head - and a tangerine between the kneesN More forfeits in a moment.

But to make it a bit trickier, and often sillier, why not mime emotions? Ever tried to express eagerness or gratitude without making a sound? Or try a sneaky version. One team picks a subfect to be mimed and gives it to a member of the other teamN He or she then has to mime it and the rest of his or her team must guess it. Go on until everyone has mimed a subject. A lot of thought is often put into the subject for a particular "victim" to mime for his tealP More games in a moment...

One player starts as "postman" in the middle by the bin - the rest sit downN The organiser then calls out the namf of a townN The playfr with that name must grab the papfr and bash the "postman" on the arm with it before he or she can sit down in the spare chair. The pfrson who guesses correctly then thinks of a word and mimes it. There are many variations on this theme and some of them can get quite out of hand if you get a group of friends and family miming and guessing like mad. A good group variation is to split into two teams, and one whole team does the miming, while the others shriek out their gufssfsN More variations in a moment...
